The Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office, Jail and House of Correction does accept applications on an ongoing basis for full-time Correction Officers. Starting salary is over $40,000 with benefits including:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- be at least 19 years old
- possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- pass a criminal background check
- pass a physical exam and physical fitness test
- pass a psychological test, oral interview and academy training
Opiate Prevention Program:
The Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction has an immediate need to fill the following positions in our Opiate Prevention Program. All positions are grand funded through April 2018 and will require day and evening hours.
Program Coordinator: Full time with benefits. Bachelor’s Degree required. Knowledge of the court system and familiarity with local service agencies preferred. Substance abuse background helpful.
Substance Abuse Counselor: Part-time, no benefits. Experience preferred. Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work required.
