The Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the launch of our Family Support Services Unit (FSSU), an initiative designed to provide support, guidance, and resources to the loved ones of individuals in our custody.
When someone is incarcerated, the impact extends beyond the individual. Family members and loved ones are often left with questions, concerns, and uncertainty about how to navigate this difficult time. We recognize that supporting families is an important part of serving our community.
Through the FSSU, we aim to provide a point of contact for concerned family members, helping them access appropriate information, referrals, and resources while establishing clear guidelines for communication and the release of personal information.
This initiative reflects our continued commitment to treating people with dignity, strengthening family connections, and recognizing the important role that loved ones play in supporting individuals throughout their time in custody and beyond.
