The 911 Memorial proudly built and displayed on the grounds of the Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction as a collaborative effort between Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office staff and inmates participating in the landscape maintenance program run by Berkshire Education and Correction Services at the Jail and House of Correction.
Sheriff’s Office staff, including Sheriff Bowler, were called upon to assist in recovery efforts at Ground Zero. The granite displayed in the memorial was offered to us by the City of New York and is a piece of the World Trade Center site.
