Visits
Inmates at the Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction are allowed one, one-hour visit per week. Inmates may have up to 2 adult and 2 minor visitors at a time. All visitors must be on a pre-approved visitors list. Each inmate is allowed up to five people on that list. All adult visitors must produce a valid state photo identification. Visitors under age 17 must be accompanied by an adult and must produce a valid state photo I.D. or long-form birth certificate.
Visiting hours are 7:00pm-8:00pm. Visitors are expected to be at the facility no later than 6:30pm. Visitors who arrive at 6:30pm will enter at 7:00pm. After that, it will be in 15-minute increments.

Visitor Dress Code
Below are articles of clothing not permitted to be worn while visiting. Discretion may also be used by the lobby officer.
- See through clothing of any type
- Gang related clothing of any kind (Logo’s/Colors)
- Bare feet, open toe shoes, flip flops, sandals, and crocks
- Camouflage clothing of any kind
- Torn clothing or clothing with holes
- More than one pair of pants
- Hooded sweatshirts of any kind
- Form fitting spandex, yoga or leggings of any style
- Nonprescription glasses
- Articles of clothing that display offensive material
- All Jewelry (Wedding bands and medial alter bracelets excluded)
- Anything worn on the head
- Scrubs
- Shorts
- Turtlenecks
- No tank tops or shirts that expose shoulders, chest or back (Must be covered at all times)
- Du-Rags
- Dresses or Skirts

Mail, Phone Calls
Inmates may receive delivery of the U.S. Mail, which is received every day except Sunday and postal holidays from the Post Office. All incoming mail is opened and checked for contraband. Mail sent to an offender must have the inmate’s name written on the envelope, with a return address. Legal documents are opened in the presence of the inmate. Inmates may subscribe to any publication that does not jeopardize or undermine the security and good order of the institution. Inmate mail should be addressed with an inmate’s name to 467 Cheshire Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Inmate Accounts
All money for inmates will be deposited to the inmate’s account.
Cash for inmate accounts is accepted in the public lobby during regular business hours.
Only money orders or cashier’s checks will be accepted through the mail. All money orders or cashier’s checks must be sent to the following address:
All money orders or cashier’s checks must be made payable to the inmate. The sender’s name and address must also be written on the money order or cashier’s check for deposit to the inmate’s account.
