Visits
Inmates at the Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction are allowed up to three one-hour visits per week. Inmates may have up to 2 adult and 2 minor visitors at a time. All visitors must be on a pre-approved visitors list. Each inmate is allowed up to five people on that list. All adult visitors must produce a valid state photo identification. Visitors under age 17 must be accompanied by an adult and must produce a valid state photo I.D. or long-form birth certificate.

Mail, Phone Calls
Inmates may receive delivery of the U.S. Mail, which is received every day except Sunday and postal holidays from the Post Office. All incoming mail is opened and checked for contraband. Mail sent to an offender must have the inmate’s name written on the envelope, with a return address. Legal documents are opened in the presence of the inmate. Inmates may subscribe to any publication that does not jeopardize or undermine the security and good order of the institution. Inmate mail should be addressed with an inmate’s name to 467 Cheshire Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201.

All money for inmates will be deposited to the inmate’s account.
Cash for inmate accounts is accepted in the public lobby during regular business hours.
Only money orders or cashier’s checks will be accepted through the mail. All money orders or cashier’s checks must be sent to the following address:
